PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The County of San Luis Obispo began the design of a new Government Center in February 2001. The new facility to be located in downtown San Luis Obispo on Monterey Street is a $40 million project. The project as designed is a 97,000 square foot office building above two levels of  64,000 square foot subterranean parking to accommodate 150 stalls.

The new building will be constructed of cast-in-place concrete for the garage levels and three above-grade levels. The fourth story will be constructed of a structural steel frame. The building utilizes sustainable building components, including a raised floor system, to achieve a building that will function at a level 25% above the requirements of Title 24.
